West Metro League
Girls in 4th-8th grade participate in the West Metro recreational league which is run by Minnetonka Community Education. By participating in this league, our teams will be able to compete against different competition each week instead of playing just Edina teams.
Games for the West Metro league are played on Saturday mornings and afternoons in Minnetonka, Wayzata, Chaska/Chanhassen and/or Edina. Teams may play up to 2 games each weekend (Sat). All games are refereed by certified officials. Teams practice once a week.
Depending upon the number of registrants, we anticipate there will be three 4th grade teams, two 5th grade teams, one 6th grade teams, and one 7th/8th grade team.
The 4th-8th Grade Girls Rec League is a parent-coached program, so volunteer coaches are needed. All coaches will need to register on our website, go through a background check and complete an online video about concussion management. Coaches will be given one ball, first aid kit and game book.
The EBA works with the Edina Park & Rec. department to put practice schedules together. Teams practice once a week (schedule TBD) beginning in early November.
The 4th-8th grade teams play in the West Metro league and will have games in Minnetonka, Wayzata, Chaska/Chanhassen and Edina on Saturday mornings/afternoons. The 7th/8th grade team will also have games in Eden Prairie. Game times fall between 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Games begin in early December and will continue through early March. Teams may play up to 2 games on any given Saturday. The season ends with a tournament.
