FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Team Will My Child Play On?
Once registration is closed, teams will be formed. Typically, there are 8-10 players on a team, although at times, there may be a need to have more.
In forming the team, the EBA will honor one (1) mutual play-with request per player at the 3rd grade level. Only mutual (both players request each other) play-with requests can be honored. Multiple play-with requests or “daisy chain” requests cannot be honored. There are no play-with requests at the 4th grade level.
Once all play-with requests are satisfied, teams are formed by taking into consideration where the child attends school. Please note, this does not mean that every player on every team will be from the same school, but we will make every effort to ensure multiple kids from the same school are on a given team.
Late registrations are added to teams to round out rosters. There is no mutual play-with request for late registrars.
Who Coaches The Teams?
The 3rd & 4th Grade League coaches are parent volunteers. Ideally each team will have two coaches, a head coach and an assistant coach. Parent coaches will be coaching their child’s team. Please consider volunteering your talents and time as a head or assistant coach. Click HERE to register as a coach.
Per Edina Parks & Recreation Department rules, all coaches are required go through a background check and complete an online video regarding concussion management.
When Do the Kids Practice/Play?
Generally, players will be scheduled for 2 events each week. Events are categorized as practices and games.

Practices and games can start as early as 6:30pm and go as late as 9:00pm. Practices and games last between 45 and 50 minutes. A complete schedule of games, practices, clinics, etc. will be posted on each team's page. To access your team's page, click on the EBA TEAMS tab at the top of the page and use the drop downs to access your team's page.
Please note, in some cases when a Monday falls on a National holiday, teams may have to be moved into another gym location on a different night of that week. Please follow your schedule carefully.
