7th-8th Grade Boys House League
Bill Rohlf - Commissioner
Please Note: The EBA's Kindergarten House League is offered to all boys and girls who live in or attend school in Edina.
Registration opens September 1st and runs through October 10th. Click HERE to register.
Registration for Parent Coaches: We rely on parent coaches to coach the House teams. Ideally we'd like a head coach and an assistant coach. This is a volunteer position and without your help, we cannot form teams. Please go to our website and register to coach. We will then send you a background check to complete along with concussion training. Any questions please contact your commissioner above.
Boys in grades 7 and 8 will be combined to play together in a single league.
Evaluations for the 7th/8th grade boys take place Saturday, October 12 from 4-5 pm at South View Middle School in the main gym. The team Equidraft will take place on Tuesday Oct 15th at the Edina Community Center, RM 350, this is for coaches/evaluators only. Coaches are encouraged to attend both evaluations and the Equidraft.
Parent coaches are needed for the 7th/8th grade league. The time commitment is minimal, and coaching is fun and rewarding. If you sign up to coach prior to team formation, you can participate in the player selection Equidraft and influence your team's roster. Coaches can attend a training session before the start of the season. Coaches will be given one ball, first aid kit and game book.
The EBA works with the Edina Park & Rec department to put practice and game schedules together. Teams generally play/practice twice a week. The 7th/8th grade teams will play/practice on Tuesdays/Fridays. The season kicks-off in November. The first few sessions of the season will be devoted to practices. Games will start in December. No games or practices will be scheduled during winter break, but open gym time may be available. Games will be played through mid-February, then playoffs will begin. The final playoff games will be played in the last half of February. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams and Consolation champs.
