The Edina Peewee Basketball League is a parent coached, non-competitive basketball program designed to develop fundamental skills and to promote fun while participating in organized practice and games. The program is offered to all first and second grade boys and girls who live in and/or attend school in Edina.

The focus of the Edina Peewee Basketball League is to teach basketball skills including: passing, defense, dribbling, shooting, basic techniques, and coordination. The Edina Peewee Basketball League encourages a positive learning environment, builds confidence and self-esteem, and provides positive feedback while striving for success.

Whenever possible, teams will be selected from the same general neighborhood area and/or schools.  All teams will be gender specific will be made up of half first graders and half second graders (this is subject to change due to registration numbers). Peewees use a size 27.5 junior ball and an 8-foot hoop.

Peewee participants will attend 4 clinics throughout the season. These clinics are run by Eric Lowe (Future Hornets) for the boys and Jonathan Buckley (Hot Shots) for the girls. These clinics will also be attended by each team's coach. A coaches clinic will also be held for all peewee coaches, and a coaching manual will be provided at the beginning of the season. This will ensure that each team is learning the same techniques.

8 games will be held on Saturdays throughout the season. Saturday games are scheduled on a rotating basis at 8, 9, 10, 11 am, 12 pm or 1 pm. This means your son or daughter will play at different times each week, at one of four elementary school gyms in Edina (countryside, Concord, Cornelia or Creek Valley). In addition to the Saturday games, 4 practices will be scheduled throughout the season on Wednesday evenings. These will take place in the Elementary schools. So, all-in-all the peewees will have 16 events throughout the season.

The EBA will coordinate a photo day one day throughout the season.
