The big news for basketball families in Edina this year is that the Edina Basketball Association (EBA) and the Edina Girls Basketball Association (EGBA) have officially merged.  The merger was the culmination of months of work on both sides to provide the best of all our collective programs to all the boys and girls in Edina. In addition to streamlining information-sharing, scheduling and registration for parents, the combination of the EGBA and the EBA will formally consolidate and coordinate the best practices, policies and talents of both associations, providing improved access to programs, coaching and facilities for all participants.  Now there is one stop for all basketball families in the community, traveling or house, boy or girl, 1st grade or 12th, the Edina Basketball Association is your home.

  • Peewee Basketball - Designed for players in grades 1 and 2, the peewee program is focused on fun and learning basketball basics through weekend programs, weekly practices and scheduled games after the holiday break.

  • Development League - The Development League will run from November through February and provide 3rd and 4th grade participants the opportunity to enhance their basketball skills with more advanced coaching and additional game playing opportunities after the holidays.

  • House League Basketball - House league focuses on recreational enjoyment and provides the opportunity for skills development. The boys house league will include weekly practices and intra-league play in Edina, with teams made up of boys from Edina in 5th through 12th grades. The EBA house league for girls in grades 5-8 and will include weekly practices and participate in an inter-community league program with teams from Minnetonka, Wayzata and potentially other communities in the west metro area.

  • Traveling Basketball - Those in grades 5-8 who are interested in more competitive opportunities can choose to try out for a traveling team. Tryouts will be in September. The season will consist of approximately 2 practices per week and 3 games per week, depending on the tournament schedules. Most traveling teams will play between 30 and 40 games between early November and mid-March.

  • Rim Rocker - This is a one day, 3 on 3 tournament play for House and Traveling players. See the Rim Rocker section for more information.

  • Open Gym - Check this site throughout the year to see dates and times of open gyms we sponsor for EBA players. This time is not intended for any organized practices or events but instead available for kids to play pick up basketball or just hone their skills.
