***New This Year!***
The EBA is proud to announce the formation of our new Rookie program for kindergarten boys and girls. This new league is intended to be an introduction to the game of basketball where the participants will learn proper techniques in basketball basics (dribbling, passing, shooting). This program is provided for Kindergartners who live and/or attend school in Edina.
Events will be held on Friday evenings at one of five elementary schools for 8 Fridays throughout the season. The participants will also attend 2 Saturday clinics conducted by Eric Lowe (Future Hornets) for the boys and Jonathan Buckley (Hot Shots) for the girls.
The focus of this program is not on games, however some 3-on-3 scrimmages may be run. Rather the focus is on these new players learning proper techniques that will be carried through all future leagues.
Parent coaches are needed. Coaches will attend a 3-hour coach training session and a coaching manual with practice plans will be provided.
Participants will receive a basketball jersey and a 27.5 Junior basketball. 8 foot hoops are used.
The EBA will coordinate a photo day one day during the season. More information about Photo Day will be emailed to the program participants early in the season.
Participant Fee $100
