Below is a list of several important topics related to our Boys and Girls Travel Program. This information can also be found on the EBA website under Programs > Travel > Boys 4th-8th Grade or Girls 4th-8th Grade at the top of the homepage.

Registration
Registration for our 4th-8th Grade Boys and Girls Travel Programs is open and continues through Thursday, September 15. Late registrations will not be accepted. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. The Travel Program is for players with more advanced basketball skills wanting to play against other communities at the highest level. Participating in this program requires a significant time commitment and should be the player’s primary athletic activity during the season.

Eligibility Guidelines
The MYBA has adopted new eligibility guidelines that use school attendance (not residency) as the primary factor in determining where a player can play. For example, if your player goes to school in Edina (EPS, OLG or ISLA), they are eligible to play for the EBA regardless of where you live. However, if your player lives in the Edina Public School attendance area, but goes to school elsewhere, you may have to apply for an exception to play for the EBA. CLICK HERE to review the MYBA's Player Eligibility Guidelines. If you believe your player may be impacted by this change, please contact us at questions@edinabasketball.com. Your player’s application must be approved before Tryouts on Saturday, September 24 to participate.

Parent Coaches
As in prior years, there’s a possibility that your player’s team will require a parent coach. If you would be interested in coaching this season, please contact us at admin@edinabasketball.com and provide your contact information and the name and grade of your player. Your willingness to coach will have no bearing on the level of team your player will make.

Parent Information Meeting
The EBA will host a Travel Parent Meeting on Wednesday, September 21 from 6:30 to 8:00pm in the South View Middle School auditorium. There will be a presentation detailing the key aspects of the travel program with time afterwards for Q and A. This meeting was originally scheduled for Tuesday, September 13.

Pre-Tryout Clinics
The EBA will be hosting Pre-Tryout Clinics for players who have registered for the Travel Program and intend to try out for a team. CLICK HERE for the schedule. These clinics are OPTIONAL but strongly encouraged as they give players the opportunity to experience the drills that will be used during the tryout process. The cost is $30 for both sessions or $15 if your player can only attend one. CLICK HERE to register.

Tryouts
Travel Tryouts will take place on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25. There will be an additional evaluation for Boys 5th-8th Grade to determine team placement on Sunday, October 2. CLICK HERE for the Tryout Schedule. Teams for 4th grade boys and 4th-8th grade girls will be announced on Monday, September 26. Teams for 5th-8th grade boys will be announced on Monday, October 3. Players who are not selected for the Travel Program will be automatically placed in either our Boys House Program or Girls Rec Program.
