PROGRAM FOCUS
This program is open to players who live in Edina and/or attend school in Edina. Girls in 4th-8th grade participate in the West Metro Recreational League which is run by Minnetonka Community Education. By participating in this league, our teams are able to compete against different competition each week instead of playing just Edina teams.
Please Note: If you have questions about this league, DO NOT contact the West Metro league. They do not have specifics about the EBA's program. Any questions about the league should be directed to Trevor Busby.
REGISTRATION
Registration opens September 1, 2024 and runs through October 3, 2024.
Registration Fee: $265 per player - Included in the registration fee is enrollment into the Junior Wolves Program, which includes 1 free game ticket for this season, and a giveaway provided by the Timberwolves.
Late Registration: A player may be registered after registration closes; however, a $25 Late Fee will be added to the total amount due at checkout. Players who are registered late will be placed on a waitlist and are not guaranteed placement on a team.
Refunds: Refunds are available until registration closes but are subject to a $25 Processing Fee. After registration closes, refunds will be granted at the discretion of the Program Director (minus the $25 Processing Fee and applicable Late Fee).
TEAMS
Team formation is dependent on the number of players registered. A minimum of eight players must register to field one team. Multiple teams will be created as warranted.
COACHES
The 4th-8th Grade Girls Rec League is a parent-coached program, so volunteer coaches are needed. Ideally, each team will have two coaches, a head coach and an assistant coach. Please consider volunteering your time and talents as either a head or assistant coach. Coaches will be given one ball, first aid kit and game book.
Please note: All coaches must pass a criminal background check each year and complete online training regarding child safety and concussion awareness once every three years.
SEASON LENGTH
The season starts in early November with practices. West Metro League games begin in early December and run through early March concluding with a season ending tournament.
PRACTICES
The EBA works with the Edina Park & Rec. department to put practice schedules together. Teams practice once a week (schedule TBD) beginning in early November.
