3rd Grade Spring League

The Registration "3rd Grade Spring League" is not currently available.

The 3rd Grade Spring League is for boys and girls who want to experience a more competitive level of basketball and are considering playing in the EBA's Travel Program next season.

Q1. How many teams will be formed?
A1. The number of teams depends on registration numbers. In past years we’ve had 3-4 boys and 3-4 girls teams.

Q2. When will player registration open and close?
A2. Registration will open on 2/9 and run through 3/8. We will announce teams later in March.

Q3. When will practices be held?
A3. Each team will have 2 practices per week in Edina gyms on weekday nights, at either 6:15-7:30pm or 7:30-8:45pm. Practices will start the week of 4/1 and conclude the week of 5/13. After teams are formed, the coaches will coordinate with the team parents to determine which nights and times would work best to hold practices based on player and gym availability.

Q4. How many games will my child play?
A4. Your coach will survey team weekend availability before choosing tournament dates. Each team will play in 2 locally hosted one-weekend day tournaments, usually consisting of 3 games. There will also be a 3rd tournament the week of 5/20 where the Edina teams will play each other in Edina gyms.

Q5. My player is planning to play another sport or on another team in the spring. Will there be conflicts?
A5. We love multi-sport athletes! The league is structured to minimize conflicts with other spring sports / activities.

Q6. Will the spring league help prepare my player for Edina Travel basketball?
A6. Yes, the Spring League will be a great way for your player to experience what it would be like to play on a 4th grade TraveI team next fall/winter. In case you are not familiar with our Travel Program, the EBA typically has over 300 kids in 4th-8th grade participate each year. Travel teams play in weekend tournaments against teams from other communities from November to March.

Q7. What will be the cost to register my player and to attend the tournaments?
A7. The cost per player is $200. Scholarships are available. In addition, the sites hosting the MYAS tournaments will be charging a spectator admission fee of $10 per adult and $5 per student and senior citizen. There will be no spectator admission fee to attend the 3rd tournament where the Edina teams will play each other.
